In this podcast, Dr. Paolo Capogrosso and Dr. Marco Falcone talk about the new chapter in the sexual and reproductive EAU Guidelines on penile abnormalities and penis dysmorphophobia.
With an increase in surgery requests, Dr. Capogrosso and Dr. Falcone talk about the lack of evidence in this field of urology, hence most surgical procedures for penile girth or length enhancement are experimental and should be approached with caution. The aim of the new guidelines is to provide evidence-based treatment to patients with penile size complaints and increase awareness of these conditions.
They emphasise the importance of taking a full medical history and conducting precise penile measurements.
Dr. Capogrosso also talks about the new section on male contraception and a systematic review on vasectomy and vasectomy reversal that they are currently working on, which will provide evidence-based treatments.
Dr. Paolo Capogrosso (IT) and Dr. Marco Falcone (IT) are both members of the EAU Guidelines Sexual and Reproductive Health panel.
