EAU Section of Oncological Urology (ESOU)
The ESOU undertakes this immense field by stimulating scientific research, encouraging continuous education and knowledge sharing in this subspecialty and across disciplines.
ESOU history
In 2001, the ESOU was established as an official member of the EAU Section Office under the name of the European Society of Oncological Urology. The ESOU organised its first scientific meeting in 2003. Six years later, the ESOU adopted its current title. The section continued to develop themes of evidence-based practice, report recent breakthroughs, reward outstanding European research, and offer multiple benefits to the EAU members and oncological urology specialists from all over the world.
What we do
The ESOU provides educational opportunities for onco-urologists and runs mentorship programmes for the next generation of urology professionals. Throughout all its programmes, the ESOU offers guidance in current treatment, strategies and controversies encouraging the continuous improvement of patient care.
Every year, the ESOU organises a dedicated event that presents highlights in onco-urology and sends speakers to various national and international conferences. The section strongly supports the up-and-coming talent through its various programmes, scholarships, and training.
For who
All EAU members with an interest in oncological urology will benefit from our initiatives; from senior trainees to trained urology surgeons, as well as, oncologists and affiliated medical professionals. They will find an interesting and stimulating angle among the ESOU initiatives.
How to contribute
If you have any suggestions regarding the content of our meetings, or any ideas on how the ESOU can contribute to the development of our subspecialty, please do not hesitate to contact us. Additionally, if you are organising a scientific event or developing an educational programme in the field of oncological urology, we also welcome you to discuss the possibilities for cooperation.
